This 1999 Renault Clio V6 Trophy is #19 of 159 Trophy units built by Renaultsport at their Dieppe assembly facility. The car was campaigned by Sitec Motorsport in the 1999, 2000, and 2001 Clio V6 Trophy series in Europe and later spent time in France before being brought to the UK in 2015. We purchased and imported to the US in 2023. This vehicle received a racing exclusion by the EPA in May 2023, and the approval letter will be accompanied with the sale. This Clio V6 Trophy is offered on a bill of sale as well as a binder of records and import documents.
The Clio V6 Trophy cars feature a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout that recalls the Renault 5 Turbo and are powered by a 3.0-liter V6 paired with a six-speed sequential transaxle. The naturally aspirated 3.0-liter V6 was adapted from the Renault Laguna and mounted transversely ahead of the rear axles. Factory rated output was 281 horsepower and 226 lb-ft of torque. The rear main seal was replaced and the oil and coolant were changed under our ownership. We dropped the transaxle to replace the reverse shaft seal and the pilot bearing as well as changing the transaxle fluid.
The V6 Trophy body features widened fenders, rocker panel covers, doors, quarter panels, and bumper covers compared to the standard Clio. This example is finished in lime green with a red rear wing, side air intakes, and headlight covers as well as a front splitter. The cockpit features a roll cage with door bars as well as a single OMP racing seat accompanied by a Sabelt four-point harness, a Sparco steering wheel, and a Magneti Marelli instrument cluster. The Sparco steering wheel is wrapped in microsuede and wears a yellow centering stripe. The Magneti Marelli cluster incorporates a 9k-rpm analog tachometer as well as a digital display. The reverse-gear readout is malfunctioning and more than likely due to a broken sensor. The car does not have an odometer.
Further equipment includes a Lifeline fire suppression system, an AP Racing brake-bias adjuster, Brembo disc brakes, and 18″ Cromodora magnesium wheels. This car is equipped with a battery cutoff at the base of the windshield as well as an aluminum fuel filler cap, front and rear tow points, and hood and hatch pins. The wheels are mounted with 215/40 front and 265/35 rear Maxxis Victra RC-1 tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with Brembo calipers at all four corners. The brake fluid was changed under our ownership.
Please inquire if you have any additional questions or request for info. Would be happy to show the car to any interested parties, and are happy to negotiate a deal within reason.
